Dr. Robert Hughes (University of Bristol) is a Senior Lecturer within the School of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol. He holds a EngD in Physics from the University of Warwick and leads the Electromagnetic Sensing (EMS) Team within the university’s Ultrasonics and Non-destructive Testing (UNDT) research group. His research focuses on developing techniques for the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of complex materials and structures. Robert’s team specialize in modelling and developing novel sensors, measurement techniques and data-processing methods specifically designed to tackle the unique challenges of modern industries, with a focus on composite structures.
