Ilya Kuangaliyev is a PhD student in the Automatic Control research unit at Chalmers University of Technology. He conducts research on deep battery discharging before recycling, where the goal is to deep discharge the battery until its voltage drops below the level safe for recycling. His task is to make this process quick enough to fulfill the rapidly growing demand in the battery recycling industry, while keeping it safe and convenient, by making the approach suitable for complete battery modules and capable of being applied utilizing the EV’s battery management system.
